Single Malt Scottish Whisky from the Imperial Distillery
This page refers to Scottish Single Malts from the Imperial Distillery. Imperial Distillery was founded in the town of Carron by Thomas Mackenzie in 1897 and named after Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The distillery has had a hard time, closing several times for long periods. Like a lot of distilleries, it primary reason for producing whisky was for blends, and the Imperial brands were used in the likes of Teacher's, Old Smuggler, Long John and Ballantine's blends. Tomintoul Distillery Tour
Planet Whiskies had a fantastic trip up to the Speyside Whisky region of Scotland in February 2024 to visit Angus Dundee Distillers Tomintoul Distillery within the Cairngorms National Park. Then, after the distillery tour and tasting, which was hosted by Iain Forteath, the master blender of Tomintoul, our press group travelled and stayed the night at the recently bought country home of Tomintoul House in the Aultmore Estate (previously called Aultmore House).
