This famous Scottish distillery Old Fettercairn was built in 1824 and was the second distillery in Scotland to have its whisky licences. The Fettercairn distillery was first owned by Sir Alexander Ramsey for the first 20 years until it was sold to John Gladstone. In 1973 Whyte & Mackay bought this distillery but had been taken over a few times since.
