Kilchoman Distillery: Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2024
Published Date: 25th April 2024

The eagerly anticipated annual release of Kilchoman Loch Gorm has arrived!
The 2024 edition was distilled in 2014 and matured in oloroso sherry butts previously used by Bodega José y Miguel Martín.
The majority of fresh casks in the vatting allow for layers of oloroso influence to be imparted from the sherry-soaked oak.
Nose: Waves of sweet BBQ smoke and cooked fruits with dark chocolate and dried figs.
Palate: Delicate peat smoke combined with honey roasted nuts, cinnamon and malted barley.
Finish: Fresh notes of citrus and rich toffee.
Named after the famously dark, peaty loch overlooked by the distillery, Kilchoman’s annual Loch Gorm limited edition is their only regular expression matured entirely in oloroso sherry casks.
“Loch Gorm has often been our most sought after limited edition and I don’t see that changing in 2024. Distilled in 2014, these sherry butts have given this year’s release an abundance of rich spices and toffee notes. A great example of peat and sherry working in harmony together,”
Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder.
Loch Gorm 2024 is available from Kilchoman stockists around the world from this week.

Tomintoul Distillery Tour
Planet Whiskies had a fantastic trip up to the Speyside Whisky region of Scotland in February 2024 to visit Angus Dundee Distillers Tomintoul Distillery within the Cairngorms National Park. Then, after the distillery tour and tasting, which was hosted by Iain Forteath, the master blender of Tomintoul, our press group travelled and stayed the night at the recently bought country home of Tomintoul House in the Aultmore Estate (previously called Aultmore House). Planet Whiskies has made the Tomintoul Distillery, Distillery of the Month for both March/April 2024.
