Aceo Spirits Releases New Island Peat Edition of Smoky Scot
Published Date: 15th September 2026
Aceo has today announced the launch of Smoky Scot Island Peat Edition: Orkney Release, the first expression in a new series exploring the diverse peat character of the whisky produced on Scotland’s islands. The new range expands the highly popular Smoky Scot brand beyond its established Islay expression.
Smoky Scot is a bold and distinctive heavily peated Islay single malt Scotch whisky, capturing the characteristic smoke, maritime influence and powerful flavours associated with Scotland's most famous whisky island.
Now, with the launch of the Smoky Scot Island Peat Edition: Orkney Release, Aceo Spirits is introducing distinctive peated whisky from Scotland’s other islands – beginning with Orkney.
Produced using Orcadian single malt Scotch whisky, this limited Island Peat Edition celebrates a different, more gentle side of Smoky Scot. The island’s heather-rich peat imparts a distinctive style of smoke that is fragrant, floral and gently earthy, drifting gracefully through the spirit and adding depth and character to every sip. While smoke remains at the heart of the whisky, it allows the honeyed sweetness, fruit and delicate spice notes to shine through, offering a new perspective on the familiar Smoky Scot style.
The new release sits alongside the original Smoky Scot expression, which has established a strong following amongst peat lovers for its vibrant Islay character. While the original release is bold and heavily peated, the new Island Peat Edition offers whisky drinkers the opportunity to explore how peat and island influence can take on a distinctly different character depending on where the whisky is produced.
The launch represents an exciting new chapter for the Smoky Scot brand, celebrating the diversity of Scotland's island whiskies while remaining true to the bold, smoky personality that has made the brand so popular.
Smoky Scot Island Peat Edition is bottled at 46% ABV and presented at natural colour, without chill filtration.
