Kilchoman Distillery: Maury Cask Matured

Kilchoman have launched their first limited edition release of 2026, and it is a full maturation in a cask type they’ve never used before.

The Maury Cask Matured limited edition is not a finish, the whisky was aged for the full term of its maturation in ex-Maury fortified wine casks.

Maury is a sweet, fortified wine from the Roussillon region of southern France, made primarily from Grenache noir grapes.

The time the whisky has spent maturing in these wine casks has added layers of dates, raisins and dark honey sweetness which balance beautifully with the natural peat smoke and citrus sweetness of Kilchoman.

• Nose: Figs, raisins, and dates with salted caramel, orange peel, and soft peat smoke.
• Palate: Pipe smoke and dark chocolate with layers of treacle and warming spices.
• Finish: Dried fruits, cacao, earthy peat smoke, and a gentle dry spice.
