Latest Whisky News - Chivas Brothers reveals premium seasonal gift offerings- 12th October 2009
12.10.09 - Chivas Brothers, the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard, has unveiled eye-catching seasonal offerings for premium brands Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s, The Glenlivet and Aberlour. Combining luxury and style, the gift packaging aims to attract new and existing customers during the busy holiday period.
Chivas Regal, the flagship Scotch whisky brand of Chivas Brothers, has introduced a limited edition gift tin for its 12 Year Old expression. The contemporary new design embraces the heraldic icons synonymous with the brand, displaying them in a variety of finishes. The striking, contrasting graphics on the metal tin are further enhanced by a deep red lid which highlights the richness of the Chivas crest, adding texture and a modern, luxurious twist. The high impact gift packaging will be available in 70cl, 75cl and 1 litre variations in over 40 markets worldwide.
Ballantine’s, the world’s No 2 range of blended Scotch whiskies, has developed gift tins for its premium and super premium whisky expressions Ballantine’s Finest and Ballantine’s 12 Year Old. Each pack displays a clear brand identity with prominent use of the iconic logo and navy colour, to emphasise the premium nature of the brand.
Ballantine’s Finest, the leading Scotch whisky brand in Europe, is presented in a sleek silver metal tin with iconic brand cues such as the brand logo, which is embossed in blue and red to provide a strong and prominent image. The packaging also includes a silicon ice cube tray, which sits within the lid of the tin and encourages customers to indulge in the perfect serve - Ballantine’s Finest poured over the iconic ‘B’ embossed ice cubes.
Ballantine’s 12 Year Old is presented in a robust silver and blue tin, with a matt soft touch finish which gives a contemporary look and feel. The brand’s strong Scottish heritage is reflected with a touch of tartan on the rim of the box, while an embossed ribbon and GBS seal (George Ballantine & Son) bring extra value to the pack to reflect its age status.
The Glenlivet is re-launching a luxurious leather case with red ribbon seal for its core range due to the success of its recent gift packaging. Combining the debossed 1824 logo and iconic thistle motif, the packaging’s distinctive soft leather feel represents the smooth finish of ‘the single malt that started it all’. Available in rich brown (The Glenlivet 12 YO), deep red (The Glenlivet 15 YO) and navy blue (The Glenlivet 18 YO), the gift boxes represent the premium quality of The Glenlivet and are the perfect gift for single malt lovers.
Aberlour, the leading malt whisky brand in France, has launched a range of leather cases for the single malt’s 10 Year Old, 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish, 12 Year Old and 16 Year Old expressions. The gift boxes are presented in warm deep brown, cream, burgundy and deep blue, to reflect each of the bottle’s lids. The material label is stitched into the front of the case and finished with a stylish buckle closure. The Aberlour gift packs are available exclusively in France, in 70cl size.
Eric Benoist, International Marketing Director, Chivas Brothers says, “While enhancing the premium nature of our brands, these creative and contemporary gift offerings will also ensure maximum shelf stand out during this key sales period around the world. The luxurious look and feel will entice customers and contribute to the growth of these dynamic brands.”
