Angus Dundee Distillers Launches Glencadam and Tomintoul single-malts in Tesco for Spring 2025
Published Date: 15th April 2025
Tesco customers across Scotland can now enjoy two more award-winning single malts as the supermarket stocks whisky from Angus Dundee Distillers for the first time.
From April 16th, Glencadam American Oak Reserve and Tomintoul Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish will be available to purchase at more than 60 Tesco Extra and Tesco Superstore locations.
Glencadam American Oak Reserve is matured exclusively in hand-selected premium quality American oak ex-bourbon barrels sourced from Kentucky in the United States.
A premium single malt, it has a sweet, tropical and orchard fruit style, with a smooth finish.
The launch in Tesco comes at a momentous moment for Glencadam Distillery as it celebrates its 200th anniversary with a new visitor centre set to open in Brechin this summer.
Tomintoul Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish is a small batch single malt bottled in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, before marrying and finishing in hand selected Pedro Ximénez sherry butts sourced from Andalucía, Spain.
The process of finishing has created a beautifully rich, complex and full-flavoured single malt. This year Tomintoul Distillery marks its 60th year of crafting exceptional whisky.
James Lamont, Head of Local Sourcing at Tesco, said: “We have a long history of supporting local Scottish producers, and we’re excited to expand and include these two new whiskies from Angus Dundee Distillers as part of our commitment to range great quality, local products.
“We hope our customers love the new products as much as we do.”
Angus Dundee Distillers, Master Distiller Robert Fleming, said: “As we celebrate Glencadam’s 200th anniversary this year, it’s fantastic to see Glencadam American Oak Reserve reach more whisky enthusiasts through Tesco stores across Scotland.
“This expression is a true reflection of our distillery’s unique character – elegant, smooth and beautifully balanced with layers of sweetness, orchard fruits and gentle spice. Matured exclusively in hand-selected American oak ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky, it highlights the signature style that has defined Glencadam for two centuries and serves as the perfect introduction to our award-winning range.”
Robert Fleming also added: "At Tomintoul Distillery, we take great pride in our craft, constantly exploring unique cask finishes to create exceptional single malts to add to our award-winning range. The Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish is a shining example of this dedication — rich, complex and full of character thanks to the hand-selected sherry butts from Andalucía, Spain.
“Bringing this fan-favourite expression to Tesco stores across Scotland offers whisky lovers and those new to the category the opportunity to experience the depth and indulgent flavours that make this release so special.”
