Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2025 Release
Published Date: 26th March 2025
Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2025 marks a historic first for the distillery – their first-ever 10 Year Old Loch Gorm.
Loch Gorm is the name given to their annual sherry matured limited edition. Named after Islay’s largest freshwater loch neighbouring the distillery, the dark murky colour of the loch’s water is reflected in the rich coppery tones of their sherry matured Loch Gorm.
Tasting Notes for Loch Gorm 2025
- Nose: Caramelised custard tart, freshly roasted coffee with notes of candied ginger.
- Palate: Honey roasted figs, cloves and sticky toffee pudding with a suggestive smokiness evocative of barbecued bananas.
- Finish: Lingering finish with a savoury undertone held together by a smoky and earthy influence.
“Loch Gorm, in my opinion, is reaching it’s perfect age, balancing those rich sherry notes with our classic Islay spirit. 10 years maturation in sherry casks has added an abundance of rich spices, dark fruit and barbecue sweetness to the light citrus and peaty character of Kilchoman,” Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder.
The Loch Gorm 2025 (70cl, 46% vol.) will be available in the UK and across Europe from this week, priced between £75 and £80. It will be arriving in markets further afield over the coming weeks.

Tomintoul Distillery Tour

Planet Whiskies had a fantastic trip up to the Speyside Whisky region of Scotland in February 2024 to visit Angus Dundee Distillers Tomintoul Distillery within the Cairngorms National Park. Then, after the distillery tour and tasting, which was hosted by Iain Forteath, the master blender of Tomintoul, our press group travelled and stayed the night at the recently bought country home of Tomintoul House in the Aultmore Estate (previously called Aultmore House). Planet Whiskies has made the Tomintoul Distillery, Distillery of the Month for both March/April 2024. Read more Planet Whiskies Tomintoul Distillery Tour
