Benrinnes Scotch Whisky Distillery Information
Benrinnes Scotch Whisky Distillery is situated in the Speyside region of Scotland below Ben Rinnes and was built in 1826. It has had a few problems over the years with floods when the buildings of the distillery were destroyed in 1829. It was quickly rebuild and has produced whisky all the time since with only breaks during the war years. It was also rebuild in 1935 by William Smith & Co.
The main brand this distillery produces is Benrinnes 15 Year Old. It also has a few independent bottles. There are two water sources that the distillery has access to and they are The Scurran and Rowantree Burns. The water sources from both of rivers is excellent and really makes a difference when making quality malts like Benrinnes.

Tomintoul Distillery Tour
Planet Whiskies had a fantastic trip up to the Speyside Whisky region of Scotland in February 2024 to visit Angus Dundee Distillers Tomintoul Distillery within the Cairngorms National Park. Then, after the distillery tour and tasting, which was hosted by Iain Forteath, the master blender of Tomintoul, our press group travelled and stayed the night at the recently bought country home of Tomintoul House in the Aultmore Estate (previously called Aultmore House).
