Straight from the Still
Dear friends,
As many of you know, RAGBRAI passed through Templeton this year on Monday, July 25th. We had over 2,000 people go through the distillery, and our friends from the City of Templeton hosted a beer garden adjacent to the distillery which offered food, beer and (of course) Templeton Rye to over 4,000 riders.
The first bikes pulled into town at 6:15 am and the last ones (Team Fish out of Waterloo) left at 11:00 pm. I was lucky enough to become an honorary member of Team Fish!
Thanks to the City of Templeton, TJ Juskieicz, his entire RAGBRAI staff, and all of the riders for a great day! Many of you have been asking about your team pictures from the distillery and they are now available. See below.
Last but not least, congratulations to Keith Kerkhoff on his daughter Kiley's wedding this past weekend!

Templeton Rye at the Iowa State Fair
We are looking forward to the one and only Iowa State Fair starting next Thursday, Aug 11th. Once again, we'll have a booth in the Varied Industries Building where we will be selling various merch items and just hanging out. Please stop by and see us! We'll be along the west wall of the main Varied Industries floor.
Prohibition Week in Iowa - Gatsby Gala and Boardwalk Empire season Premiere
Templeton Rye Gatsby Gala - Friday, September 16th
Templeton Rye is sponsoring this year's Gatsby Gala at the magnificent Salisbury House in Des Moines. If you have never been, this is one of the best parties of the year and the plan is to take it up a notch this year with the help of some Templeton Rye classic cocktails. The party is Prohibition themed with period attire and the setting is simply stunning. It is a great event for a group of friends to dress up and share a table and all proceeds go to support Iowa's premiere historic estate.

Boardwalk Empire premiere - Sunday, September 25th
The hit HBO show Boardwalk Empire is set in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during Prohibition and one of the feature characters is none other than Alphonse Capone. Templeton Rye played a major role in Capone's bootlegging empire and it is said that Capone only served "The Good Stuff" from Iowa when he entertained. The folks from Boardwalk Empire contacted us a couple of years ago and we have worked with them on history, props, and various other details since then. Templeton Rye may have a recurring role in the show this season as the focus starts to turn toward the rise of Al Capone. Please start planning your own viewing parties for Sunday, September 25th, and and stay tuned for Templeton Rye parties in Iowa, Chicago, New York and San Francisco.

Aug 13 - Liquid Chicago presents: Franks, Felons and Fizzes - 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Explore three of Chicagos biggest fascinations: Hot dogs, Gangsters and Booze. Hop aboard as we travel through the streets of Chicago with the Untouchable Tours to visit Chicagos notorious gangster and criminal past. Along the way well stop for a few Chicago dogs and wash them down with prohibition era Tempelton Rye cocktails. More info at liquidchicago.com.
Aug 21 - BBQ at Elixir in San Francisco - Our friends Nick and H have been aging an IPA in a used Templeton barrel with the folks at Sudwerk Brewery. Come give it a try.
Aug 25 - Merkle's Whiskey tasting and Iowa Hawkeye kick off: Meet the Templeton Rye team and enjoy classic cocktails and hear the first hand story behind the resurrection of this great American brand. They will share some entertaining stories about Templeton's unique place in Prohibition America and bootlegging stories from Iowa to Chicago.

The Nadas release Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed
