It's here!  Ole George  100% Straight Rye Whiskey has been bottled and is now available for sale at the Grand Traverse Distillery.  We have a limited supply for sale this year and so you will have to come to visit us at the distillery to purchase.  Next year we will have enough to send to our distributors, but only three barrels are available to bottle at this time.
 
Ole George Whiskey is distilled from a 100% rye mash bill and is bottled at 93 proof.  Here at Grand Traverse Distillery our goal was to distill a traditional rye whiskey.  Prior to prohibition Americans drank rye whiskey.  Rye has a unique character that no other grain can provide in that the rye imparts a spicy flavor.  Our Ole George Whiskey is bottled straight from the barrel.  We do not chill filter our whiskey.  Chill filtering  can remove flavor from the whiskey which is why we will not chill filter.  Our goal with Ole George Whiskey is to let the unique flavor of the rye come through.  Come in and taste it for yourself.
 
The distillery is open on Thursday and Friday from noon to 5pm and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.
