Welcome to the page on Planet Whiskies referring to Australian Whisky Distillery. There are five distilleries at present mentioned on this page and are Hellyers Road Distillery, The Nant Distillery, Hoochery Distillery, Great Southern Distilling Company and of course the very famous Bakery Hill Distillery.

Australian Whisky Distilleries

Hellyers Road Whisky Distillery

This distillery is the largest producer of Single Malt Whisky in Australia. The whisky that is pruduced is being well known through-out the world whisky market. There is a Visitor Interpretation Centre where you can taste the home grown Whisky and you can see a photo of the visitor centre to the right.

The Nant Whisky Distillery

A photo of the whisky bar lounge within the complex at the Nant Distillery is Tasmania.The Nant Distillery is set in the Central Highlands in Tasmania on the Nant Estate and has been around since 1821.The distillery itself is a rare farm producing whisky distillery. At the centre of the distillery is a old mill which was bulit in 1823 and is still used in present day production. It produced the Nant Single Malt and they do the full process to making whisky from the growing of the barley to harvesting the crop. Then making the end product, Nant whisky. On the right you will see a photo of inside the distillery - Its very own whisky bar lounge where you can samply the distillery whiskies. Hoochery Whisky Distillery

A photo of all the whisky barrels inside Hoochery Whisky Distillery in Kununurra, Western AustraliaSet in Kununurra in Western Australia and is the oldest continuously operating distillery in Australia and are the makers of a premium corn mash whiskey, called Raymond B. Made with Kimberley Grown Corn and Mahogany charcoal. The distillery makes other brands including Ord River Rum which you could say is more important to this distillery than their whisky as it produces over 50,000 barrels of Rum every year. This rum is said to be the first Rum produced in Western Australia and has grown to become a very successful brand. The distillery latest product is Kimberley Corn Liquor, which is made from 100% Kimberley Corn Mash.

The distillery is also very proud of being 100% Australian and always try to use the natural ngredients. Great Southern Whisky Distilling Company

A photo of the Great Southern Whisky Distilling CompanyProduced is Western Australia Limeburners is a premium Single Malt Whisky and hand distilled, non-chill filtered in traditional copper pot stills. The location of the distillery is in Port City of Albany. When visitors come to this distillery they will learn all about the distilling process in the making of whisky. They can then sample the final whisky product after the tour has finished. The whisky on offer within this distillery is often on offer in tasting night in Perth, Western Australia. There is a small fee for this, but I would imagine would be a very exciting night and one that you should remember if you dont over sample the drams on offer. Bakery Hill Whisky Distillery

At Bakery Hill have two types of cask strength single malt whiskies. They are the Peat Malt Cask Strength and the Classic Malt Cask Strength. All the whisky is stored in American Oak ex Bourbon barrels.

It also has three single malts called The Classic Malt using unpeated malt, brewed then double distilled and matured in American Oak Bourbon Casks - More details are available on the Bakery Hill Website and this can be found at www.bakeryhilldistillery.com.au
